What is PAM?
Patriotic American Malcontents, or PAM, was a group formed by women from Senate District 50 to discuss the onslaught of conservative messaging (read "lies") in a post Citizens United world. The group has since expanded to include men and women. There are not a whole lot of us, and our market share is decidedly small, but we are here and we are going to say what we think needs to be said.
So, what's with the name?
We wanted to have "Patriotic" in our name, because many of us still cry when the military folds the giant American flag on Target Field while a brass quintet in dress uniform plays the Star Spangled Banner. "American" was chosen because we are American, though most of us by virtue of having, as Chris Rock describes it, come out of an American [vagina]. The word "Malcontent" is a throw-back to Senate District 50's (2002-2012) proverbial "15 minutes of fame." Finally, we wanted an acronym that "made sense," hence "PAM."
What does PAM do?
Our latest focus has been messaging, both refining our focus and developing clear and concise ways to articulate our ideas. We also hope to get a YouTube channel up and running soon and already have several ideas for videos in the works. If you live in the North Metro area and are interested in becoming involved with PAM, joining discussions related to progressive liberal messaging, or to help contribute to our growing number of exciting ideas, please check out our Facebook page.
